Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic disorders characterized by an increase in blood glucose levels or
hyperglycemia caused by lack of insulin secretion, impaired insulin metabolism, or both. The most common form
of DM is dm type 2. The most frequently used methods are the POCT method and the GOD-PAP method. POCT
is a device used to measure total blood glucose levels based on electrochemical detection by coating the enzyme
glucose oxidase on membrane strips. The GOD-PAP method of blood glucose examination has many advantages,
namely: high precision, high accuracy, specific, relatively free from interference. The GOD-PAP method of blood
glucose examination is more widely carried out in the laboratory because it is considered to be of higher accuracy,
so that more accurate results are obtained. The purpose of this study is to determine glucose levels using the
POCT method and the GOD-PAP method in people with Diabetes Mellitus. This research method uses
comparative descriptive. The sample in this study was 22 respondents with inclusion criteria, namely patients
diagnosed with DM medically and had fasted for 8-10 hours, male and female genders. The sampling technique
used is a random sampling technique. The sample is then carried out blood glucose examination with the POCT
method and the GOD-PAP method. The results of glucose examination with the POCT method averaged 284.6
mg/dL while the blood glucose test results of the GOD-PAP method had an average of 306.3 mg/Dl. From these
results, it can be concluded that there is no significant difference in results between the results of the blood glucose
examination of the POCT method and the GOD-PAP method
