Abstract

Pesticides are chemical substances and other materials as well as
microorganisms and viruses that are used to control various pests.
Pesticides are widely used to help increase the productivity of
agricultural products including chili agricultural products. The pesticides
used by chili farmers are synthetic insecticides. Insecticidal pesticides are
not only bad for the environment, but also harmful to health. The
research design used in this study is descriptive, using the examination
method, namely photometry. The population used in this study were chili
farmers with a sample size of 30 people who used a sampling technique
in the form of purposive sampling. Based on the results of research that
has been done in general, normal results are obtained, with details of 27
respondents (90%) having normal cholinesterase levels and 3 people
(10%) others having low cholinesterase levels. Abnormal results were
found in respondents who had a long working period. This is because the
more often and longer the use of pesticides, the higher the risk of
exposure to harmful substances contained in pesticides which can cause
a decrease in cholinesterase cadherin. The conclusion of this study is that
most respondents have normal cholinesterase levels and a small
proportion of respondents have low cholinesterase levels.
