Pesticides are chemical substances and other materials as well as laconic remains and viruses used to
control various pests. Pests here are very wide, namely insects, mites, nuisance plants, plant diseases caused
by fungi, bacteria and viruses then nematodes, snails, rodents, birds and other animals that are considered harmful.
Pesticides are widely used to help increase the productivity of agricultural products including chili products. The
pesticides used by chili farmers are synthetic pesticides. Insecticidal pesticides not only adversely affect the
environment, but are also harmful to health.Pesticides are widely used to help increase the productivity of

Insecticidal pesticides not only adversely affect the environment, but are also harmful to health. Therefore
cholinesterase examination is also useful for detecting the level of contamination caused by pesticides that work by
inhibiting the cholinesterase enzyme. Kurjati hamlet is an area where the people mostly make a living as farmers.
The research design used in this study is descriptive, using the examination method, namely photometry. The
population used in this study was chili farmers with a total sample of 30 people who used a sampling technique in
the form of purposive sampling. Based on the results of studies that have been carried out in general, normal results
were obtained, with details of 27 respondents (90%) had normal cholinesterase levels and 3 other people (10%) had
low cholinesterase levels. Abnormal results were found in respondents who had a long service life. This is because
the more often and forlonger pesticides, the higher the risk of exposure to harmful substances contained in pesticides
which can cause a decrease in cholinesterase levels. The conclusion of this study is that most respondents have
normal cholinesterase levels and a small percentage of respondents have low cholinesterase levels.
