The utilization of nurses abroad is an alternative policy in order to optimize the utilization of nurses. There are several factors that influence motivation, one of which is family support, family support is very influential on the high and low desire or motivation of a person. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and motivation of nursing students towards work specialization abroad. This study is a descriptive correlation study with a cross sectional method with 151 respondents of final year nursing students. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. The results showed that more than half of the students had high motivation as many as 104 respondents (68.9percent) and more than half of the students had high family support as many as 95 respondents (62.9percent). Based on the results of statistical tests using chi-square, the results obtained pvalue < α, namely 0.0001 so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between family support and motivation of nursing students towards work specialization abroad. It is recommended for educational institutions to provide information and provide facilities to improve the ability of students to establish networking with foreign countries so that graduates can be channeled easily.
