Anxiety in doing thesis makes students uncomfortable, this discomfort will make the student less
concentrated and less able to deal with problems. Self-confidence is a basic thing for a person to increase
activity and creativity to achieve achievement, with this self-confidence will not grow by itself. The purpose
of the study was to determine whether there was a relationship between the level of self confidence and
anxiety in undergraduate nursing students at STIKes Karsa Husada Garut. This type of research is
a quantitative research using a cross sectional research design. In this study used a total sampling
technique of 87 people. Data collection tool using self-confidence questionnaire & HRS-A /HARS
Questionnaire. Univariate analysis using frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using chi-square.
The results of the study on bivariate analysis showed that 16 students with self-confidence had anxiety in
the mild category (48.5%). Conclusion Most nursing students have a weak level of self-confidence, some
students have mild anxiety even & there are students who do not have anxiety, and there is a significant
relationship between self-confidence and anxiety in students who will face thesis at Karsa Husada Health
Institute. It is recommended that students who will face the thesis are at least able to be independent in
increasing their selfconfidence, besides that students who have anxiety are not expected to be anxious, for
further researchers if they are interested in the same research it is recommended to add other factors and
variables that might become a phenomenon in the future.
