SELF CARE MANAGEMENT IN PATIENTS WITH HYPERTENSION IN JATISARI VILLAGE, KARANGPAWITAN SUB DISTRICT, GARUT DISTRICT

High blood pressure is an increase in systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and blood pressure, diastolic
of more than 90 mmHg. Selfcare management is individual behavior in an activity with the aim of maintaining and
improving health. The purpose of this study was to identify self-care management for hypertension in Jatisari village.
This research method is descriptive. The number of samples of this research is 58 samples. The results showed that
self-care management in hypertensive patients based on a hypertensive diet was in the sufficient category for 30 people
(51.7%), self-care management in hypertensive patients based on light sports activities with the sufficient category
for 54 people (93.1%), taking medication according to the recommendation of the largest, namely in the sufficient
category of 40 people (69.0%), monitoring blood pressure in the sufficient category of 37 people (63.8%), smoking
restrictions in the sufficient category of 48 people (82.8%) , and based on stopping drinking alcohol, the largest was
in the good category, 43 people (74.1%). Based on the results above, it is hoped that health workers will increase
education related to selfcare management.
