CHARACTERISTICS OF CHILDREN UNDER FIVE AGAINST ISPA AT SILIWANGI GARUT HEALTH CENTER

Abstract

One disease that often attacks the respiratory system in children under five is Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) with symptoms such as coughing, hoarseness, runny nose, heat or fever. ARI is estimated to be the cause of most under-five deaths in the world. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of toddlers who influence the incidence of ARI at the Siliwangi Health Center. This study used a descriptive survey design that was conducted on a group of children under five who visited the Siliwangi Health Center. The population in this study were all children under 5 years of age experiencing ARI who visited the Siliwangi Health Center, Garut Regency during the past year, namely 126 visits. Sampling technique (sampling) in this study using incidental sampling technique (incidental sampling) which is as many as 96 children under five years old. The data collection technique uses document review and data that has been collected by other parties in the form of medical recap books that have been diagnosed by doctors and KMS books for toddlers and for data assessment using univariate analysis procedures. The conclusions of this research are: Children under five who experience ARI are mostly during the pre-school period, Children under five who experience ARI are mostly boys, Children under five who experience ARI are almost entirely with nutritional status less, Children under five who experience ARI are almost entirely with complete basic immunization status.
